| Before entering University, most students have experience studying English, but almost never have the opportunity to speak English. In this class, students will be challenged to present in English in a variety of real world situations. These situations vary from meeting someone for the first time to answering questions directed at them on their presentations with answers beyond, \\\\\\\"\\\\\\\"Yes\\\\\\\"\\\\\\\" and \\\\\\\"\\\\\\\"No\\\\\\\"\\\\\\\". The text chosen for this class puts everything in an easy to understand context, preparing them for the possibility of working overseas or engaging with non-Japanese. Students will have several opportunites in class to practice presenting in English, and in order to succeed in this class, they need to make the most of these opportunities. Verbal communication is a must. |

| Grade is calculated based on the following Rubric: 34%: Presence 33%: Class Participation 33%: Homework Test: Optional *Students are free to consult teachers about their grades at any time during the semester. *Students who have low Participation or Homework Grades will be given a take home test. This test will then be used as a replacement for the low grade |
