| 授業概要 |

| Each class will focus on two forms of communication: common phrases used daily by native speakers as well as formal presentations. We will practice making presentations quickly to highlight the essential aspects while balancing the visual with performance aspect of public speaking. |

| Knowledge and Understanding: Students will learn about efficiency in communication and practice holistic approaches to studying and learning (mainly through listening and reading.) Skill/Performance: Students will be able to speak according to multiple circumstances and gain confidence in each mode through pair work, interviews, and presentations (mainly listening and speaking) Thinking/Judgement: Students will be able to consider their audience to convey information clearly. Interest/Attitude: Students will be able to learn connection between grammar and different cultural ways of speaking in English. |

| Performance will be assessed through a combination of the following: attendance (no more than 5 absences), in-class participation, attitude towards English use, homework/projects, presentations, tests. There is no re-testing in this class. 総合評価は次の項目を含める：出席（欠席は5回以下）、授業中の参加、英語を使う態度、宿題・プロジェクト、プレゼンテーション、テスト。 再試験がありません。 |

Please bring a dictionary (paper or electronic) and notebook to class. Some homework/projects need to be submitted by Google Classroom or other electronic means.
