Course Outline:This class will focus primarily on speaking and listening with some activities involving
reading and writing.

Course Goals: By the end of this course, students should i)feel more comfortable speaking English to their
classmates and teacher on a variety of subjects, ii) have a larger vocabulary base, and iii)have more
confidence in their English listening ability.

【1】SEMESTER TWO : Review activities.Most of the activities will be done in pairs and small groups. The focus will be on speaking and listening with some reading and writing exercises.Students should make sure that they have the proper textbook, an
English dictionary and a binder for the class notes.
【2】Textbook: Chapter 6- How often do you exercise?Most of the activities will be done in pairs and small groups. The focus will be on speaking and listening with some reading and writing exercises.Students are recommended to review what was studied in Chapter 6 and also the class prints.
【3】Chapter 6 continued.Most of the activities will be done in pairs and small groups. The focus will be on speaking and listening with some reading and writing exercises.Students are recommended to review what was studied in Chapter 6 and also the class prints.

【6】Chapter 6 and 7 Progress check.We will review what was studied in Chapters 6 & 7.There will be an in-class review of Chapters 6 & 7, but if time permits, students are encouraged to also do some review on
their own.

【9】Midterm testThe midterm exam will be either a writing / listening test OR a speaking test.This week will be a midterm exam, but if students want to they can preview Chapter 9 in the textbook.

【15】まとめ (Summary / Review)We will review what was studied during the term, and the contents of the final exam will be announced. The final test will be either a writing / listening test OR a speaking test.Based on the teacher's test announcement, students should review and prepare for the final exam.
評価方法
Students will be evaluated on the basis of exams (speaking and writing), homework assignments, attendance and classroom participation.

Suggestions for study: If time permits, students should review what was studied during that day's class (ie.
prints and the section in the textbook). Also, if students don't understand / need more information about something they should ask the teacher during the class and or come to the teacher's office (２５号館ー９階)
Attendance and actively participating in the class activities is VERY IMPORTANT.
