Before entering University, most students have experience studying English, but almost never have the opportunity to speak English. In this class, students will be challenged to speak English in a variety of real world situations. These situations vary from meeting someone for the first time to helping them answer simple questions directed at them with answers beyond, \\\\\\\"Yes\\\\\\\" and \\\\\\\"No\\\\\\\". The text chosen for this class puts everything in a slight business context, preparing them for the possibility of working overseas or engaging with non-Japanese. Students will have several opportunites in class to practice speaking English in these situations, and in order to succeed in this class, they need to use those opportunities. Verbal communication is a must.
