| 【授業概要】 Theme based units introduce and practice grammatical points and writing skills. Grammar points include past tense, perfect tenses, phrasal verbs and time clauses. Writing skills include: narrating, describing people and places, explaining meaning, evaluating and summarising, and predicting. 【到達目標】 The goal of this course is to develop writing skills with a particular focus on academic writing. |

Student introductions. | Theme based lessons consist of student centered activities that introduce and practice various writing skills and grammar points. Students will be expected to practice writing both in and outside of class. In addition to completing written homework assignments students will also be encouraged to keep a weekly English journal. | |

| Final grades will be decided as follows: 50% class mark based on participation in classroom activities. 50% based on written assignments and the final essay. The English journal is not graded. |
