| 授業概要 |

| This course aims at familiarizing the students with some of the greatest American authors of the 20th century, as well as withsome of the literary movements and trends. Parts of film versions of the literary works will be presented in order to show the way they have been interpreted by Hollywood. Students are recommended to read all the works from the reading list. Itis compulsory that they read at least one each semester, in order to be able to produce a final paper. |

| Attendance, Final paper (700-1000 words). There will be one final paper each semester. Spring semester: choose an itemfrom 1 to 8 in the reading list; fall semester: choose an itemfrom 9 to 15. |
