授業概要
This class will use everyday situations (especially when traveling abroad) to strengthen English communication skills (listening/speaking, reading/writing). Emphasis will be placed on practicing speaking and writing in order to cultivate skills to become global citizens. 日常トピックス（特に海外旅行）を通して英語コミュニケーション・スキル（話し、聞き取り、読み書き）をのばす。特に、グローバル市民として自分のことなどを伝えることで英語を実践的に話したり書いたりする。
到達目標
1) Students will learn key English vocabulary and phrases for a variety of travel-related situations. 海外旅行に関する英単語や文法を学ぶ。（知識・理解）
2) Students will read, listen to, write and speak English to practice dealing with a variety of travel-related situations. 英語の読み書きや話聞き取りで様々な海外旅行のシチュエーションを対応する。 （技能・表現）
3) Students will practice the English covered in class, use appropriate phrases/words in the appropriate situation, and apply the language to other situations. 　授業で紹介した英語を練習し、適切な言葉を適切なシチュエーションで使い、ほかの場面で応用する。（思考・判断）
4) Students will use English as much as possible in class and actively participate in pair and role-playing activities. できるだけ英語を使い、授業中のペアワークやロールプレイに積極的に参加する。（関心・意欲）

評価方法
Performance will be assessed through a combination of the following: attendance (no more than 5 absences), in-class participation, attitude towards English use, homework, and tests (written and oral). 総合評価は次の項目を含める：出席（欠席は5回以下）、授業中の参加、英語を使う態度、宿題、テスト（筆記・スピーキング）。

Passport 1 Student Book (2nd edition) by Angela Buckingham and Lewis Langford, Oxford University Press.
The second half of the book will be used in the fall term.教科書の後半は後期で利用する。

Office Hours: Tuesdays, Period 2. Building 25 (Media Center), 10F.

Students must actively participate in class. Please bring the textbook and a notebook to each class. Homework and projects will be turned in using Google Classroom and/or other means (e-mail, SNS, etc). Students should have access to a computer, cell phone, and/or smart phone, preferably one with video capability. On the first day, we will register for Google Classroom, so students should bring their mobile/smartphone and university e-mail address/password. Students should also download Google Apps for Education on their smartphone (at least Google Classroom, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Docs). 授業中積極的に参加しなければならない。教科書とノートを毎回持参。宿題・プロジェクトはグーグルクラスルームや、電子メールSNSなどのオンライン方法で提出する。パソコン、携帯、スマートフォンのアクセスが必須（出来れば録画が可能なもの）。初日に「グーグルクラスルーム」の登録を行いますので、自分のスマートフォンや携帯電話、そして大学が与えたメールアドレスとパスワードを持参するのが必要。初日までにグーグルのアプリ（少なくともグーグルクラスルーム、Gmail, グーグルドライブ、グーグルドキュメント）をスマートフォンにインストールをお勧めします。
