This course is designed to provide students the basic tools they need for successful academic writing in English. It will cover essential vocabulary words, grammar, and writing strategies, as well as provide many opportunities for skills practice.

Grades are calculated based on the following rubric:
30%: Writing Exercises 25%: Homework
25%: Class Participation 20%: Attendance
Test: Optional
*Students are free to consult teachers about their grades at any time during the semester.
*Students who have low Participation or Homework Grades will be given a take home test. This test will then be used as a replacement for the low grade.
