This class is designed to help students identify and produce simple English patterns in order to gain confidence in expressing and understanding English. It will build on existing knowledge and introduce simple expressions and patterns that can be used readily.

1) Students should be able to identify simple patterns. 2) Students should be able to recognise how to substitute parts of patterns and create their own original sentences. 3) Students should be able to use common and native speaker expressions.

Performance will be assessed through a combination of the following: Attendance (no more than 5 absences), in-class participation, attitude towards English use homework/projects, final presentation, tests. There are no re-tests.

Credit is determined by:
Attendance and classwork: 40%
Homework: 30%
Tests: 30%
