This class will explore food and nutrition-related topics to strengthen English communication skills (listening/speaking, reading/writing). Emphasis will be placed on speaking and writing as a means to convey information about food culture and nutrition in order to cultivate skills for their future careers. 食物と栄養に関するトピックスを通して英語コミュニケーション・スキル(話し、聞き取り、読み書き)をのばす。特に、将来の就職に向けて食文化や栄養の情報を伝えることで英語を話したり書いたりする。 |
到達目標 |
1) Students will learn vocabulary and phrases used to describe various foods and agricultural products (mainly through listening and reading). 英語の読みと聞き取りを通して食物・農作物を説明する単語や文法を覚える。(知識・理解) 2) Students will use English to convey information about food (mainly speaking and writing). 英語を主に話したり書いたりすることで食文化に関する情報を伝える。(思考・判断) 3) Students will reflect on their country\'s and community\'s own food culture, and the food culture of other people. 自分の国や地域の食文化の大切さを考えながら、ほかの地域や国の食文化に関心を持つことになる。(関心・意欲) 4) Students will use various technologies and presentation methods to convey information in English, and produce materials (menus, etc.) in English.様々なテクノロジーとプレゼンテーション方法で英語で情報を伝え、英語の資料(英語メニュー、レシピーなど)を作成する。(技能・表現) |

Performance will be assessed through a combination of the following: attendance (no more than 5 absences), in-class participation, attitude towards English use, homework/projects, presentations, tests. There is no re-testing in this class. 総合評価は次の項目を含める:出席(欠席は5回以下)、授業中の参加、英語を使う態度、宿題・プロジェクト、プレゼンテーション、テスト。 再試験がありません。 |

On the first day, we will register for Google Classroom, so students should bring their mobile/smartphone and university e-mail address/password. Students should also download Google Apps for Education on their smartphone (at least Google Classroom, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Docs). 初日に「グーグルクラスルーム」の登録を行いますので、自分のスマートフォンや携帯電話、そして大学が与えたメールアドレスとパスワードを持参するのが必要。初日までにグーグルのアプリ(少なくともグーグルクラスルーム、Gmail, グーグルドライブ、グーグルドキュメント)をスマートフォンにインストールをお勧めします。 Students must actively participate in class. Please bring a dictionary (paper or electronic) and notebook to class. Some homework/projects need to be submitted by Google Classroom or other electronic means. Students should have access to a computer, cell phone, and/or smart phone, preferably one with video capability. 授業中積極的に参加しなければならない。辞書(紙版か電子版)とノートを毎回持参。宿題・プロジェクトの一部はグーグルクラスルームや他のオンライン方法で提出する。パソコン、携帯、スマートフォンのアクセスが必須(出来れば録画が可能なもの)。 |
